Mr Raphael Obonyo is a youth advocate at the national, regional and international levels. He is the external adviser, UNISDR’s Africa Youth Affairs, UN Habitat’s Youth Advisory Board, and Africa’s representative in the World Bank’s Global Coordination Board on Youth and Anti-Corruption.

The presentation will focus on the recently adopted  UN Sustainable Development Goals and their importance in eradicating poverty and tackling inequalities around the globe. Also, the presentation will delve into the role of individuals in taking part in the search of solution to some of the global problems, and  to encourage participation of different categories of people in ensuring the success of the sustainable development goals. Mr. Obonyo has experience working on urban problems, policy and programs including, population, education, health, housing, unemployment, provision of services, slum upgrading among others. He has worked with a number of organizations including United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Institute of Policy Analysis and Research (IPAR), Kenya Human Rights Commission, Youth Agenda and Cordaid International. He has extensive knowledge and experience in public policy, international development, political economy, governance, non-profit and project management.
