This course is about how we as researchers can and should deal with the empirical material from a source critical approach. The purpose of this course is to critically analyze different types of source materials – historical sources, statistics, oral sources, etc. - and discuss their advantages and disadvantages as an empirical basis for different types of research data. Instruction is in the form of seminars where different types of source-critical problems are addressed in the form of exercises based on different source material. The course also includes visits to some archival institutions.
