Welcome to a seminar with Professor Peter Wallensteen regarding the SDGS and what role Sweden can play in order to achieve these. The seminar is hosted by Stockholm University Graduate School of International Studies (SIS) in collaboration with Swedish Physicians against Nuclear Weapons.
In 2015 the UN General Assembly formally accepted a new set of 17 measurable Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ranging from ending world poverty to achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls by 2030. These are to succeed the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), a set of eight measurable goals which were signed in September 2000. In this seminar Professor Wallensteen will discuss how the global community, and especially Sweden, can act to make sure that these goals will be achieved by 2030.
