Jonatan Stiglund is a PhD student in International Relations at the Department of Economic History. Jonatan holds bachelor’s degrees in Civil-Military Leadership and Political Science from the Swedish Defence University (SEDU) in Stockholm, as well as a M.A. in Political Science with a focus on crisis management and international cooperation, also from SEDU. Before commencing doctoral studies, Jonatan worked as an analyst at Crismart, the centre for crisis management studies at SEDU.

His dissertation investigates the relationship between domestic and international politics with regard to European Union crisis management policies and capacities, utilizing the concept of Europeanization as a heuristic tool. His research interest focuses on national political identities and how they impact on international relations and transnational cooperation. Jonatan is also highly interested in U.S. domestic politics, primarily due to its impact on international relations and world politics inasmuch as international relations cannot be studied without rudimentary knowledge of the U.S.
